Position Title: Anesthesia Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY

Shift: Flex Shift (8*5)
Pay Rate: $30 to $35 /hr
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a qualified Anesthesia Technician for a contract opportunity in Syracuse, NY. This is a 13-week assignment offering full-time hours and a chance to work in a dynamic medical environment.
Work Environment:
This role involves frequent interaction in operating rooms and procedural areas. It requires standing for extended periods, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the ability to respond quickly in urgent situations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Work across all locations where general anesthesia is administered, including operating rooms, procedural suites, and emergency/trauma areas.
Perform room turnovers and prepare environments for surgical and invasive procedures.
Set up and troubleshoot various makes and models of anesthesia machines and related equipment.
Assist anesthesia providers during invasive procedures including:
Arterial line placement
Central venous catheter (CVC) insertion
Thermodilution catheter placement
Apply strict adherence to infection control standards in the handling of anesthesiology equipment and supplies.
Restock anesthesia carts, trays, and rooms as directed to maintain readiness and efficiency.
Monitor inventory and order supplies to ensure availability of essential equipment.
Key Competencies:
Technical proficiency with anesthesia equipment and troubleshooting
Familiarity with sterile processing and infection control practices
Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments (e.g., trauma cases)
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program.
Current national certification as an Anesthesia Technologist through the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
Current CPR/BLS certification (must be obtained prior to entering the work site).
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience preferred.
Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Centre strongly preferred.
Must have demonstrated knowledge and application of:
Reprocessing methods
Aseptic and sterile techniques
Setting up and assisting with sterile trays
Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance is required.
