Insight Global is seeking a PERM Commercial Property Accountant to sit 5 days week on-site for our Bronx, NY based client for $120k-$130k. This individual will be joining our Financial Reporting Team, a critical function within our organization that ensures financial accuracy and transparency across a diverse real estate portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounting and reporting for approximately 20 commercial properties, each with unique operational and financial dynamics.

This position goes beyond routine bookkeeping - it requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills who can interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. You will play a key role in preparing detailed financial statements, conducting in-depth variance analysis, and collaborating with property managers and leadership to drive informed decision-making.

Working with advanced tools like Yardi and Excel, you'll manipulate complex data sets, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with GAAP standards. Your ability to dig into the numbers and explain variances will help maintain financial integrity and support the long-term success of our property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

? Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of commercial properties.

? Perform heavy variance analysis to explain differences between actual and budgeted results, providing actionable insights.

? Utilize Yardi and Excel to manipulate reports, reconcile accounts, and ensure data integrity.

? Collaborate with property managers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting processes.

? Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and year-end audits.

? Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.

Skills and Requirements

Must-haves

• 5-7 years of professional experience as a Commercial Project Accountant

• Heavy variance analysis experience

Variance analysis in commercial property accounting is the process of comparing actual financial results (like income, expenses, and operating costs) to budgeted or forecasted amounts to understand differences (variances).

• Why it matters: It helps property accountants identify why actual performance is higher or lower than expected-such as unexpected maintenance costs, changes in rental income, or timing issues.

• Example: If budgeted maintenance expense was $10,000 but actual was $15,000, the $5,000 variance needs to be explained (e.g., emergency repairs).

This analysis is critical for financial statements accuracy, cash flow management, and providing insights to property managers and investors.

• Experience managing roughly 15-20 commercial properties (NOTHING RESIDENTIAL. What we are looking for are people doing the accounting for spaces like medical, warehouse, retail, etc).

• Experience with Yardi and Excel (VLOOKUP's and pivot tables to streamline processes and manipulate reports)

• Bachelors
