Position Overview

As a School RN at TheraCare, you will provide direct nursing care to students during the school day in a variety of educational settings. Here at TheraCare, we offer Full-Time School Assignments, Daily School Assignments, and Trip Coverages. Key Responsibilities:

• •Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• •Oversee the school health office including triage, injury response, and wellness checks.
• •Monitor student health conditions and respond to emergency situations.
• •Communicate with parents, school staff, and agency supervisors regarding student care.
• •Maintain accurate and timely health records in compliance with NYC DOE and NYS DOH guidelines.
• •Ensure adherence to all public health protocols and nursing standards.

Qualifications:

• •Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• •At least 2 years of nursing experience in pediatrics, public health, or school-based roles.
• •CPR/BLS certification (required).
• •Familiarity with patient electronic database systems and documentation standards.
• •Strong organizational, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements:

• •Hand dexterity ability (ability to operate mobile device, smart phone, computer).
• •Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• •Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• •Ability to travel to various locations on a near daily basis.
• •Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
