Job Description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution for our SAP S/4HANA Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) system . This pivotal role requires defining product vision, translating complex business needs into detailed specifications, and managing the development backlog to deliver maximum value. The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of product management experience in logistics technology, with deep expertise in Warehouse Management processes. You will act as the primary stakeholder, working closely with engineering teams in an agile environment using tools like Jira and Confluence to deliver scalable solutions. This role leads the effort to define, design, and implement continuous process and systems improvements, ensuring optimal material flow, maximum inventory accuracy, and operational readiness within a complex, high-volume automotive manufacturing environment. This is a business-aligned role focused on leveraging EWM functionality to solve operational challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Product Strategy: Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our WMS and Material Flow systems, aligning them with company goals.
  • Feature Definition: Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders, including logistics, Mfg., and Material Supply. Translate these into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Project and Priority Management: Effectively manage a backlog of multiple competing priorities and projects, making data-driven decisions on what to build next to deliver the most value to the business.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for all Material Flow-related matters, communicating effectively with technical teams and business leaders to ensure alignment and manage expectations.
  • Market and User Analysis: Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user feedback sessions to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Agile Development: Work closely with engineering teams in an agile environment to ensure timely delivery of scalable, high-quality products.

Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product features and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product management, with a strong focus on logistics or supply chain technology.
  • SAP Expertise: Deep, hands-on functional and configuration knowledge of SAP S/4HANA EWM (Extended Warehouse Management)
  • Technical Skills: Experience developing clear, robust functional specifications for IT development teams when custom solutions (Interfaces, Reports, Enhancements) are required to meet unique business requirements.
  • Agile Tools: Proven proficiency with agile development tools, including Jira for managing backlogs and tracking progress, and Confluence for creating and maintaining product documentation.
  • Analytical Abilities: Proven ability to use data to inform decisions and define product success metrics.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry, with an understanding of warehousing and material handling processes (JIT/JIS, Progress Lanes, Pull systems, e-Kanban)
  • Startup Environment: Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, high-growth company where you had to wear multiple hats, make critical decisions with limited resources, and build processes from the ground up.
  • Data Analysis : Experience leveraging AI/ML concepts for warehouse optimization, such as labor demand forecasting, dynamic slotting, or predicting inventory anomalies.
