Role Summary

This candidate will initially focus on critical station software updates, helping us address current delays, before transitioning to focusing on the development of our LabVIEW base software. This will refine processes, mature software, and considerably reduce test engineering time during commissioning for future stations, while also enabling the creation of automatic PCBA testers for contract manufacturers. Furthermore, this role will be instrumental in training more engineers on our LabVIEW base software, used on many of our stations, which is currently only operated by one of our engineers.


Responsibilities

  • Develop test automation applications in LabVIEW interfacing with National Instrument’s hardware.
  • Develop data acquisition and analysis applications.
  • Work closely with test engineer to ensure test equipment designs align with the software and hardware requirements.
  • Identify, source and integrate off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Understand how to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers’ product data sheets.
  • Direct activities of prototype build lab personnel to fabricate the special test equipment.
  • Ability to utilize standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and power meters.
  • Ability to use instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, hygrometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters.
  • Support technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing.
  • Participate in design reviews, requirement reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs and Hazard Analyses.
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years LabVIEW programming experience. CLA or CLD certification a plus.
  • Experience with modular test instruments and National Instruments I/O Systems (PXI, cDAQ).
  • Experience testing automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
  • Knowledge of and experience with computer hardware, communication, and bus. protocols (RS232, CAN, GPIB, Ethernet, USB).
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
  • Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for California Based Candidates: $125,000 - $156,200.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
